Introduction
Tier's privacy policy (the "Privacy Policy") explains the information we collect, how we use and share it, how to manage your privacy controls, and your rights in connection with our websites and the related mobile applications and services (collectively, the "Services"). Tier is headquartered in San Francisco, California, USA. Otherwise, the Services are provided to you by Tier Innovations, Inc. Throughout these Terms "Tier" refers to the relevant service provider providing the Services to you.

Information Tier Collects
Tier collects information about you, including information that directly or indirectly identifies you, if you or other Tier users choose to share it with Tier. The sources from which we collect this personal information fall into three categories: information you provide, information we collect automatically, and information we collect from other sources.
Account, Profile, and User Activity
We collect account information such as your name, email address, date of birth, gender, weight, username and password that helps secure and provide you with access to our Services.
Location Information
We collect and process location information when you sign up for and use the Services. We do not track your device location while you are not using the Services.
Content You Share
We gather information from photos, videos, posts, comments, messages, reactions, ratings, reviews, and other content you share on the Services.

We use the information we collect and receive to provide the Services, including providing you with the ability to record your activities and analyze your performance.

To power optional AI features
When you ask for AI coaching, a weekly read, a generated routine, or a coach chat reply, we use your training information to produce that response. See "Artificial Intelligence Features" below.
Artificial Intelligence Features
Tier offers optional AI-powered features, including coaching feedback on your goals, a weekly read on your training, AI-generated workout routines, and a coach chat. These features never run on their own. They run only when you ask for them.
What we send
When you use an AI feature, we send a summary of your own training data to our AI provider: exercise names, weights, reps, dates and session counts drawn from workouts you have logged, any goals you have set, and, in the coach chat, the messages you write together with the recent messages in that conversation. We do not send your password. We do not send other users' training data.
Who processes it
AI features are processed by Google Cloud's Vertex AI using Google's Gemini models. Under Google Cloud's terms, data submitted to Vertex AI is not used to train Google's models.
What we keep
Coaching verdicts and weekly reads are saved with your account so we can show them to you again without repeating the request, and they are deleted when you delete your account. Coach chat history is stored only on your device; we do not keep a copy on our servers, and it is removed if you delete the app or clear its storage. We also record how many AI requests you make, so that we can apply usage limits.
Your choices
AI features are optional. If you do not use them, none of your training data is sent to our AI provider.
Accuracy
AI-generated coaching, insights and routines are automated suggestions. They can be wrong or incomplete, they are not medical or professional advice, and you should not rely on them in place of a qualified coach or physician.
Analytics, Advertising Measurement and Purchases
We use a small number of service providers to understand how the Services are used, to measure whether our advertising works, and to process subscriptions. They act on our behalf and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes.
Product analytics
We use PostHog to record how the app is used, such as which screens are opened and when you sign up, complete a workout or start a subscription. These events are linked to your Tier account number. We do not send your name, email address, or the contents of your workouts to PostHog.
Advertising measurement
We use Singular, and Apple's AdServices framework through RevenueCat, to learn whether an install of Tier came from one of our ads or links (for example on the App Store, Reddit, TikTok, Instagram or Facebook). When the app is first opened, it shares technical information such as device type, operating system version, app version and IP address, together with a small number of in-app events (signing up, completing a workout, starting a subscription) linked to your Tier account number. We use this only to count and improve our own advertising. Ad platforms we advertise with may receive install and event results so they can report on our campaigns; they never receive your name, email address, or the contents of your workouts. We do not use your device's advertising identifier, we do not ask for permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites, and we do not do so.
Purchases
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to confirm your purchase and manage access to paid features. We never receive your payment card details.
How Information is Shared
We do not sell personal information or aggregated data for monetary value. We may share personal information in accordance with your preferences, as needed to run our business and provide the Services, including with the service providers described above.
Managing Your Privacy Settings
Tier offers several features and settings to help you manage your privacy and share your activities. Most privacy controls are located in your privacy controls page.
Deleting Information and Accounts
You can download your account or delete your data using our self-service tools. After you make an account deletion request, we permanently and irreversibly delete your personal information from our systems.
Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for, nor directed to, children under 13 years of age. If you are under 13 years of age, do not use the Services.
Your Legal Rights
Privacy laws provide certain rights to users in certain jurisdictions. These may include rights to access, rectify, restrict, and delete your personal information.
